Don, When first announced there was talk that the Screamer was NT based. Many people commented that that was O.K, but also wondered(hoped) that there was enough OS on it to be able to use it as possibley a general purpose machine or at least a generalized server instead of just a rendering engine for a single software package. I know this is not an "overnight" development thing, but a multi-line BBS option with "call in rendering" and automated resource tracking and accounting for billing purposes would make local screamer dial-up services attractive to some producers who could not justify one for their own "crunch" use once or twice a month. Sharing rendering services and making a little money would serve both the small producer and serious hobbyist animators. A possible issue with the soft screamer is one of Newtek freindliness. Are they going to view it and you activitied kindly, or is there going to be a 'lightrave' outlook from them? Are they going to be more free with proprietary technology than in the past? (i.e are they going to be reasonabley enthusiastic in support of your effort?) And could ya put a killer 24-bit near realtime accurate dynamics model flight sim game on it :^}…. just joking – don't shoot – it was a JOKE! wmc – via Autopilot!
