Paul –
I teach sculpture in the VCU School of the Arts Sculpture Department. I've
been messing with 3D programs for a couple of years now – 3DS for about 4
months. In our department we have a little lab for the Graduate students with
2 486-33's, a 486-66 Eisa with a Targa +64 board, and a Quadra 950 with a Super
Mac Digital Film card. My fascination is primarily with 3DS and 3D computer
display. To date we've mainly acquainted ourselves with the program although
were starding to use it as a sketching medium for visualization sculpture. Its
learning curve is steep, but its modeling and animation features are amazing.
We are about to start out putting our flics onto Hi-8 video.
How about yourself?
