I don't mean to be a wise ass but if working at the component level in electronics makes one nervous one should not be messing around at this level. One must always use his own judgement. I know one guy here that has no business even taking the cover off his computer but another who swaps surface mounted ram on simms!. There are all levels of ability and knowhow in this industry.
