David, If you do have a 2620 or 2630 board, you can temporarily (?) forego the new ROMs. I have an older 2630 board with the old roms that aren't compatable with 2.04. A company called DevWare (a public domain company) sells a disk, WB105 that has a program called "26×0". You install 2.04 rom and remove your 2620 or 2630 board, start up your machine, run this 26×0 program, and it writes the 2.04 kickstart to a file. Then you re-disassemble, put back in your 1.3 roms and your 2620 or 2630 board, then you can use the SetCPU program to load the Kickstart 2.04 into fastram. I've been using this setup for about 2-3 months now and it works great. It adds about 10-15 seconds to a re-boot…but heck, 2.04 is so solid, I rarely have to reboot!
