Paul, It sounds like you've blown the fuse for the mouseport. It resembles a resistor without the color bands and is on the motherboard just to the left of the mouseport. To get at it, you have to pull the power supply/ drive bay. If you've got a voltmeter, check carefully between the two middle pins of the bottom row at the joystick port. There should be 5v there. (Better to do that before the hassle of tearing up your computer.) -Jim
