Regarding the A4098 controller and RAM card… In a recent COnference here on CIS, I noted that we would *not* be bringing the A4098 to market at this time. Rather than get into all the 'gory' details, suffice it to say that problems that continue to plague the o4o-equipped A4000 from Commodore cause serious degradation in performance when attempting to DMA RAM on a Zorro-III card. This disappointing news has caused us to halt the projected delivery of the A4098 product. We will still bring to market the SCSI-II FAST card and RAM extension card for our G-Force o4o/40MHz, as they are unaffected by the Zorro-III DMA problems. My Technical Staff has been given guidance to not discuss the issue as yet. I just wanted to clear the air so they wouldn't have to keep dodging. If you have specific questions on this, please address them to me directly, as Tech Support will not be commenting on un-released products. Perhaps a silly policy, but one that has served us well these past 6 years. Steve Peoples GVP Marketing Manager
