Dave, Thanks for your input . . . you were right in "check the function prototype at the top of the code to be sure it matches the function definition." I had Randomize declared as prototype "void Randomize( short range);" which should be "short Randomize( short range);. An error on my part. From my studying, I had the notion that function prototypes were declared as "void" only. I spent an hour going over the code making sure I inputed correctly, and I missed it. If I new what "illegal use of void" was, I probably would have found it, and would not have bothered you. I did not understand the manual's definition, but your definition makes sense. I appreciate your help. Luis
