FoxBase from MicroSoft might be a good bet for the DataBase. Runs on both, uses
DBase files, etc. Only $99 on the mac if you get it now.
Serial Communications on Mac and PC are wildly different. Mac has a standard
serial driver which hides the hardware. There are some pretty good libraries
for the PC, but none I know of match the mac.
