Jim,
I tried what you had entered in your previous posting, but I got different
results than you did. Here's a sample:

tell application "QuarkXPress(R) 3.2"
tell page 1 of document 1
get bounds of text box 1 — a text box of 1 inch x 1 inch
set testVar to the result
set testVar to {"2.0\"", "2.0\"", "6.0\"", "6.0\""}
set bounds of text box 1 to testVar

And that works fine. I think that the problem your having may lie in that last
slash for each value. The class of bounds is measurements rectangle. As close
as I can tell, each item is a string similar to what you type in Quark (I use
inches, but if you used picas you could change the string to 3p2 or something).
If you are in inches, you have to have the slash-double quote combination,
without it, its just a number that Quark doesn't understand.
