I'm no expert when it comes to the final product, but I certainly have a vast amount of experience when it comes to pouring over the manuals and muttering "what the …. is going on here and why won't this come out?" I believe the documentation is really very good; I give it an 8. I would love to see two appendicies in the back: 1) a compilation of the most important settings to achieve broadcast quality animations, i.e. pixel size, super black (watch out for masks!), minimum camera distance to a moving object, etc., and 2) the same type of compilation for high resolution stills. Insofar as the tutorials, an additional chapter that is by invitation only would include discussion by the artists/animators of some of the material submitted for the demo reel. It could even become a requirement for submission for the demo reel, that an article accompany the still of video. Many of us learn and expand the size of our tool boxes by emulation. Regarding on-line help, I would keep it at a minimum. One liner definitions and ranges of settings would be sufficeint in my opinion. I set stuff up and run a little animation and then hit the reference manual. It gives something to do while the animation is running so I don't have to watch every scan line and constantly try to restrain my left hand from the "esc" key.
