The only cause I can think of for vertices flying away like that would
be a corrupted 3ds.exe file. It's likely that either you've got a
virus that's modifying your files, or somehow your copy of 3ds.exe
has become changed in some way. I recommend reinstalling from the
master disks after checking for viruses, and make sure that nothing
modifies the executable. If the problem still happens after that,
take the master disks back to your dealer for a replacement.
