Well,….I hate to say it, but the 1806 error is back and this time re-installing did NOT work. I am stuck in VESA (slow!) land again. HELP! Maybe we can track this down a bit – Does the Vibrant driver access any part of the HIMEM/Bios-memory area that might be used by another part of the system? I'm was using vanilla HIMEM.SYS and had just changed the CMOS video cacheing to ON from OFF when the last lock-out occurred. Now I've tried every conceviable combination of CMOS, HIMEM, and EMM386 to get back in but to no avail. Any thoughts? Of course the card is still working fine in all other apps at all other resolutions – IT seems to be fine. Is there something on the card or in the BIOS that the Vibrant driver accesses that other driver calls wouldn't? Would SCSII addresses matter any??
