murdered his name in these very forums–defending him no less. 🙂
I don't see the multiplayers causing people to rid themselves of the VCR.
In any more than we saw the death of the cassette recorders on the advent
of the audio CD. Poeple will still want to tape special events, movies
and such with their VCR just as people will continue to use the cassette
recorders.
A lot of people now are spending time and money building in house home
theatres. These theatres consist of a decent Dolby Prologic or THX
system, a 8 foot screen, satellite system, and of course the VCR. I don't
see it as a streach that a multiplayer would not fit in somewhere with the
average guy who wants home theatre and also wants games, interactivity,
audio CDs and of course movies.
Since the MPEG module is not out for 3DO yet I don't know what this
addition to the 3DO would cost.. but a 3DO is now $499.
