I like the work they do – no chaining oneselves to old growth trees, just buy the forest. BTW, I've been hearing the scuttlebut about shutting down the use of dredges for collecting gold, presumably due to siltation of fish spawning areas. Here is an interesting counterpoint. Prime Sports Network has been running infommercials by an outfit calling themselves Gold Prospecters Association of America. GPAA has been showing scenes where the dredges have been recovering free mercury that was lost by the old-time gold miners. In most cases the mercury was so loaded with gold that it wouldn't even roll around in the pan! GPAA claims that they are helping clean up the environment by getting this pollutant out of the streams. I would appreciate comments about this point. BTW2, they have been removing lead shot pellets also. Regards, Guy
