Doug Certainly the liability problem does cause the closure of a lot of lands. But, there is no reason a private individual should allow anyone else on his property for any reason except to be a nice guy. And that does not give me much faith that a lot of collecting sites would remain open. Also, sites are closed because people are so careless with other peoples property — cut fences, open gates, dumped garbage, etc. Unfortunately mineral/fossil collectors are not all sensible nice people.
