Hank, I can say some pretty crazy things when I'm tired. Forget the idea of a second rebate. Maybe NewTek would just give any of us .9 users a really good deal on Lightwave for the PC when it becomes available. Ok, on with the real stuff. I think I know what Dean Rector might have meant in his last message about the in/out point and the scrubber. Here is a situation I ran into last night. You are in the Control area of a video clip. You set the in and out points. Now you want to play that clip to see if it needs any additional adjustment, but you don't want the points you set to move. So, you open another window or better yet, grab a second scrubber and move it between the in and out points you have just set. It's a kind of fine tuning the fine tuning. NewTek also needs to come up with a good way of editing against a sound track. And having a frame counter running while a project running is necessary. I played a thirty minute project last night and somewhere in the middle, I noticed a bad cut. But, where exactally it was I had no way of knowing. Through out the project, I had duplicated many of the clips, so I had to test each clip that had the picture of the crouton that I thought was the one to adjust. There is a lot to be said for editing against a time line. I think that NewTek needs to somehow work a time line into the system. Maybe just a pull down window or something that gives you a reference as to where you are in relation to the total running time of the project. So, if you have a bunch of clips in the project window and you start to play one in the middle, you get a readout of where that frame is in relation to the entire project. Hank, all of these ideas that you are getting and sending onto NewTek are great. The only thing that worries me is if they actually incorporate many of them into the final version, it will be a lot longer than the end of March before we see the final version. Maybe, they should just fix everything that needs fixing, finishing all the things that were promised and get the program out. Then go back and start to work on 4.X. Fred
