Wayne, At present there is no plans to allow digitizing with control of the play decks time code. The Flyer will digitize the time code from a deck and save it with the clip for reference (in 4.0), but it offers no control based on time code. However, several third parties are doing applications now that do use time code and interface with the Flyer, so we may have to wait for NAB to see what they're working on. With the Flyer, you record clips as you view them on the play monitor. With 4.0's Cutting Room, you'll then be able to cut them up into clips, separate audio as needed, create individual frame stores, and have the Flyer clean all unused frames and reorganize the drives for maximum storage.
