Hank, I agree that the TBC can give you a stronger video signal, but my point was that anything you put inbetween one recorder and another will give you some kind of loss somewhere. AV/Video ran some articles a few years ago about this. I'll try and see if I can find them. We not talking big time loss or even something that you could see. But, I think the point of the article was that all devices put in line will give you somekind of loss and therefor use them sparingly. It is probably a trade off. The TBC helps the signal more than it the slight amount of noise that it may be adding to the signal. Noise, that was what the article was about. Anything you put on line will add just a slight amount of noise. I knew it would come to me if I thought about it long enough. The article was written by Peter Utz. Fred
