IDG recently purchased a major (successful) UK Amiga mag — Amiga Computing. I
don't know if that has any relation to the closing down of Amiga World. I've
spoken one of the editors of Amiga Computing and they have hopes of better
distribution in the US. Of course, IDG could have purchased them as part of
the assets of the publisher they purchased and have not interest in the
magazine at all.
