Mark, I think Tenex is still in business but out of mailorder. Your best bet on
a 2000 is to buy one already outfitted as you describe from somebody
advertising here in the classifieds of this forum. Otherwise, figure to outfit
it yourself. The latest version of Kickstart and Workbench are available
through other mailorder houses, see the latest issue of Amiga- World or Amazing
Computing. I have only ordered from Tenex in the past but a friend has recieved
good service from Software Hut and Creative Computers among others. Most
everybody outfits their Amiga a bit differ- ently, so you may have to do some
ordering to get everything like you want it. As for hanging on to your 500, you
probably would be better off waiting until you have your 2000 outfitted like
you want it, you may be able so scavenge a few things from it and save some
money on a hard drive or possibly a 2.04 or 2.1 chip should you decide to stay
on that OS. Most of the stuff that just plugs into the 500 isn't going to work
on a 2000 though so don't plan on saving a whole lot of money that way. Best of
luck!
