#Internet via CIS
Dear All,
According to "Computer Shopper-December 1994" I (a real Internet newcomer)
should be able to Telnet out of CompuServe and FTP files from Internet sites
just now. Further on – in the first half of this year, all subscribers will
have access to the Web through PPP connections, which use normal telephone
lines to run the Internet's required TCP/IP protocol. Truth or fiction?
Believing in this story I have downloaded AmiTCP/IP, but before I can proceed
to install the current version 4.0 I need some configuration information from
CompuServe network administration, eg. Internet protocol address, destination
IP address, netmask, default gateway address, host and domain name as well as
addresses of the Domain Name Servers which will be used to translate host names
to the corresponding internet addresses.
TIA Bruno
