PAR on network?
Don,
I'm not sure there is a best way. NDUMP had its limitations. The newer PAR IPAS
sounds like a better way to go but I'm not sure all what it entails. Some of
this has to do with how you render. You render straight to the PAR, whereas I
prefer rendering to hard disk. On an EISA bus with SCSI transfers to the PAR
increased to on the average 2 seconds a frame. I back up all my TGA's and
build on them frequently for other animations. This gives me the flexibility to
do customizing and keep render time down. Entirely different approach than the
one you use. Of course our clientele is a bit different as well. I'll use the
same background several times but with customization for each segment etc.
