We all use DOS because 3DS runs under DOS, except that it doesn't -it uses pharlap, which makes it just palatable enough. 8 or 9 years ago it was perfectly reasonable to pick an operating system to run just one program. If you only use one program or only one program on a particular machine, then it is reasonable -but, I think we have gotten past that. There are a lot of good tools out there and ideally you should be able to use them in a tightly integrated environment. Not everything should have to be an IPAS to work with 3DS. That is forcing 3DS to be your ersatz operating system; it shouldn't have to do that. so, when I say 'apologizing for living in a DOS world' I mean something like: Q: Why don't you use a modern operating system that will let you be more productive? A: Sorry, 3DS doesn't run under NT. 🙂 -Paul
