Actually, I didn't try the CreateFont utility from Gold Disk to create a
bitmapped version. I used the ADOS V2.04 "Fountain" utility that converts
outline fonts (mathematically described) into Amiga bitmapped fonts. I'm
not sure that is exactly what Fountain does, but the effect is similar. It
seems to generate a "font generator" for the font. The first time you
reference it, the font has to be processed into perhaps an internal font
table. After that, it is quick, like any bitmapped font. I can use the
cgFonts processed by Fountain within ProWrite 3.2 with the High Quality
print mode to print seemingly as well as ProPage can. On my 24-pin
Panasonic KX-P1124 printer, it looks almost as good as a laser printer
output.
