Bill, Thanks. I'm beginning to have the feeling that waiting six months to a year on this would probably be a wise idea. I got the first Video Blaster a year or so ago and it didn't do much, now the Intel SVRPro more or less does a decent job, so I guess I'll stick with that – I can make 4th generation video copies easily enough with two vcrs! The problem is of course that Premier 4 offers amazing control and it sure would be nice to output it to something grander than 1/4 screen avi's. Recompression is definitely a problem though. I edited a master avi and made a cd-r that included the final master plus the individual source avi segments. Played fine on a P90 and on a 486/33, but when I sent it off to a friend with a 486/25 he couldn't get the master to play, just the source segments. I'm sure it was partly my fault, no knowing what I was doing, but obviously this doesn't create any great feeling of security… Richard
