Videomedia's VLAN standard for interfacing to VTR's does support various
parallel interface decks. RGB Computers makes AmiLink (for the Amiga) and POST
(for windows) and then again Videomedia themselves have OZ, all using VLAN
technology. I think that I have also heard of devices that will convert a
parallel interface signal to rs-422 so that less expensive edit controllers can
be used.
