Kevin, I have an EVO9650 (although i no longer use it – got a PAR). It seems to me that your problem is not related to the Deck, but more likely, how you are rendering the animation to tape. The video deck has no control over what the image is so the problem is either with the targa+, or more likely how you are rendering. When you render the animation, you must have your Render Display setup for the targa+ (it seems that you have this right or you wouldn't have any image). My hunch is that you are either rendering with "NO Display" on, rendering to a Null Device, Rendering to your VGA card, or rendering with the Net-Que. Each of these rendering techniques would prevent 3ds from rendering to the Targa+ so the last image you rendered to the Targa+ would still be in the buffer, and therefore fed to the EVO9650 each time it captured a frame.
