CDK Ver 2 is rather quick and easy to setup. *IF* you know C++ you are in business. The new version (2) comes with some programs in Windows (use NT if possible) that will let you instantly pull up the worlds/objects you have created with 3DS and Autocad. You can even use the animations that you create in 3DS (for example, if you have a animation of a globe spinning – you can put that in CDK and the globe will be spinning) So far it has been very easy for me to manipulate things. Perhaps in the future if you consider purchasing this program (which I highly recommend if you are serious about TRUE VR) we can work together on projects.
