Ah, finally a question I can answer! 🙂 If you've got some kind of TCP/IP software on the Amiga side that also includes an NFS client, then you just need to find an NFS server for WinNT… and fortunately, there are at least two in the freeware domain. I've used one, called SOSS, and there's another called Tropic. Mounting the Amiga drive so they are visible on the PC is possible, too, I think – except you need NFS client software for WinNT, and I've only seen that as commercial software. For example, I got a call yesterday from Netmanage, the company that makes Chameleon, one of many TCP/IP and NFS enhancement packages for Windows and WinNT. For $800 or so, you get a better suite of tools than Microsoft provides. The salesdroid, Andre Chapman, (408) 973-6405 x7164, offered me a 30 day trial on a P.O. basis. I might try it. I know the AS225 beta 2, never officially released by Commodore, but handed out to developers, included an NFS server. It was a bit clumsy in the way it maintained an in-memory mapping of the filenames (inodes), I think it could lose information if you didn't shut the Amiga down a certain way. AS225b2 was the code handed over to any of the companies who licensed it and who may be reselling it now, like the Enlan people. I'm also hoping for an Amiga port of Samba. This networking package would let you mount the Amiga drives on the PC if they were running any form of LAN Manager, from LM for DOS, to WfW, to Windows, to WinNT. I already use Samba on my SGI, to mount its drive as a PC drive. So, give me a moment, and I'll upload SOSS. Are you interested?
