My guess is that you do not have 6 Megs of 32 bit RAM. With one SIMM installed on the board, that's impossible. You are much more likely to have only 1 meg of 32 bit, 1 meg of chip and 4 megs of 16 bit fastram. I can only wonder where the 4 megs of 16 bit mem is hiding. Did you mention each and every board in the machine? GVPCPUCTRL FASTROM is 1 command, not two like you decscribe it. The program tries to remap the kick-ROM (512 Kb) into 32 bit RAM, but fails to allocate a chunk of 512 Kb non-fragmented 32bit RAM. That's why you get the error message. GVPCPUCTRL without any arguments should report the current status the program is in, but this fails (I think) because of the fact that nothing has been done by the program in the first place. Can't the client use GVPCPUCTRL MoveSSP? This speeds up the system more than the FASTROM option does (at least in my case). Your slowing down problem is caused by the same thing: no available 32bit RAM. But I'm beginning to wonder, if you didn't mention 4 megs of 16 bit RAM somewhere else, maybe it's a 4 meg 32 bit SIMM that has managed to loosen or blow up. Your problem is definitely the lack of 32bit RAM, but if your system hasn't changed physically then I suspect one of the SIMMs went "boom". 🙁 >F<riso Friso P.
