No problem for the principals and share holders to be sure. However, the end result for the consumer is just that much less innovation and choice in the marketplace. Microsoft is probably close to rich enough to buy out all the other developers for the IBM machines. While those folks could walk away with a jingle in their jeans, the rest of us would all be the poorer for it. Additionally they may not walk away with plenty of bucks. After MS sucks all the technology out of the company, and then leaves them on the short end of the stick, they may have to walk away.
