Unfortunately you neglected to mention Microsoft policies such as charging each vendor a fee for every machine sold, whether or not MS Dos when with it. (Thus "helping" the vendor "decide on a single OS".) Also that MS uses undocumented calls to enhance the performance of it's products, and then uses other companies when they try to sue them also. (See MS countersuit against Stac.) Anyone who thinks that MS is merely dominant because it out markets its rivals, and/or because it provides superior products, is dead wrong. Unless you consider charging the standard liscensing fee for MS Dos for every machine shipped with DR Dos, a "marketing tool".
