Comparing a Cessna to an Amiga is a bit like comparing apples to oranges. Your Cessna and Amiga both still work. (True) However, if they were not letting your Cessna land at any airport built or modified for the last 10 years, or were not selling fuel compatible with your Cessna in most locations you might feel a bit different. Would you still hang on to your Cessna if you knew that you would have to siphon fuel out of others tanks. (Buying used software) Or if you could not land at certain airports, ever? (No software available to do certain things.) That is where our situation is rapidly headed. Even the "premier" Amiga developers are having trouble. Soft-Logik is a prime example. While they state that they were "forced" to release PGS 3.0 early, due to demand, the software has been shipping for over 6 months with LARGE bugs. No software is bug free, but in 6 months there hasn't been the development horsepower to implement landscape printing on non postscript printers, among other problems. Which leads me to conclude that their finances are such that they cannot afford to hire a large enough development team to finish the work.
