Paul, CURRENT Russian planes are equal or better than the F-15, and the
Russians are selling them around the world like party favors. One of the
reasons our Air Force has been very successful in recent years is that our
equipment has been superior to the competition. (and our pilots too, of course)
That is now changing.
In any event, you cannot just "do some R&D" now and decide to build later when
and if you need them. There will be no aerospace industry left TO build them.
