Good Morning Dean,
Last week I spoke to you in reference to me not being able to open the new
upgrade 4.1b after installing. Refreshing your memory a bit, it goes like this;
First of all running 4.1a doesn't seem to be any problem as such, but on the
other hand after I install the upgrade i'm getting the message,…"Insufficient
memory to run this application. Quit one or more Windows applications and then
try again". The problem with this is that I don't have any other apps running
when trying to access DTS!
Secondly, after suffering from this letdown, attempting to access Compuserve
for one, I get an error message,…"Btrieve initialization failed", followed
by…..
Btrieve Error – code = 1002
Location; [dbtree.cpp,149]
————————————–
This comes up three more times with the last number being, 154, 237 and 314.
When completed, it does let me go in and do my thing.
Then we have WP 6.0 to contend with as follows;
Cannot – initialize – The most probable reason is insufficient memory. So far
this appears to be the extent of my error messages, but as we both know this
can change in a heartbeat.
After receiving your reply to my first note, you suggested I reinstall 4.1a
until the patch was ready then all should be up and running like wildfire. Well
it didn't work and quite simply i'm a bit disappointed and letdown that Okna
developement didn't even address my problem or anything close to it in the so
called list of bug fixes. Maybe this is my fault for not putting it down on
paper in the beginning but at that time I mentioned that I couldn't even access
WinCim or Compuserve.
To top it off there appears to be quite a few bugs in the bug fixes or at least
this is what i'm reading in the forum.
Dean i;'m not here to make your life of that of Okna's miserable, but I do
think after paying my money like numerous others, I ought to be able to at the
very least get into the program and explore it for what it's worth.
Bottom line: Who do I talk to, write to, fax or Fed-X my plight to in order to
address this problem. I spoke to the fact that I was afraid of being left out
in the cold concerning this and apparently it's come to past.
Summing up:
I have plently of memory. DTS 4.1a does appear to run good. I do not have
problems with my setup in Windows except when I install 4.1b and try to run it.
The patch is a waste of time and effort for me at this point, it does or solves
nothing!
You have my address. I'm available by voice at (305) 989-6114 or Fax (305)
989-1480 just about 24 hours a day, if I miss you call leave number and i'll
return. So, if you or any other person at Okna can come up with some solutions
or suggestions, i'm all ears…….
I Remain Sincerly,
Vernon (Bud) Parsons
