John, I've thought about some sort of 16mm kludge-o-matic too. I ran into a guy at a camera show who offered me an old Bolex 16mm for $50, but didn't have the cash with me. 🙁 Certainly a lot cheaper than the video alternative. One thing I did consider was using a B&W long-persistance monitor. A little custom hardware would route the red, blue and green signals from the Amiga or even a Firecracker to the monitor. Something like New Tek's Digidroid would put a filter over the lens for each color. I figured that using a long persistance monitor would get around some of the problems with the camera's shutter speed. With a B&W monitor, you avoid the limits of the color monitor's dot pitch.
