HAM-E animates …. uh …. sometimes good… sometimes not so good. I would concede that DCTV *seems* to do a better (read 'faster') job of building real-time anims than HAM-E, but I certainly haven't done any rigorous tests. Just my perceptions from seeing others work. But the difference was never fantastic. I also use PF/X to do my general anims, and Director when I want to cram stuff into RAM and page-swap CHIP buffers. Of course they are both *real fast* when doing that. re frame rate…. I know I was getting about 15-20fps on a 1/2 screen, non-interlace 256 color HAM-E anim early on. Other than that I do recall always wishing that things were faster, but that's a pretty normal wish on all the real-time stuff we do, right? 🙂 –jp–seattle–
