#Render Lockup
Latest results and efforts on the Lockup with the prj file.
Reloaded an old project (3ds file), cranked up the map size to 2000, map
sample range to 10, and bias at 1. Rendered Phong with all shadows, mapping,
reflect and blur parameters on.
The file I loaded was 80 objects, and 98,198 faces, in contrast to the
"problem file" of 310 objects and some 200,000 plus faces.
Took about 15 min per frame, rendered 4 frames, did not hang or lockup,
and last swap was 80564 kbytes in size. Never got to 4th frame on "Problem
File" (with Phong) or hit 80 Mbyte swap size. So I guess that "70" Mbyte is not
the magic number.
Since I am past some detailed geometry in the ani file, will delete all
the unecessary objects and whittle the prj file down as much as I can. Save to
a new prj file, and try rendering to see what happens.
If I reduce the object and complexity by say 30 to 50%, and it still
hangs, would you like for me to arrange something with Jonas?…..If you like,
I can also take the test file and see how far it will go (400 frames in all),
but I won't be able to do that till I finish this current project.
Let me know what you think.
