Hello James,
We have just posted a very complex T-REX model made of 1173 metaballs
that could be a good example. The modelling was done in two days and
one important tool for that modelling has been OBJECT/SNAPSHOT keyframer
command that allows the repetition of many metaballs along a path , with
varying scales and positions. You can use this technique for several purposes.
In the T-REX model , details such as the tail , long muscles, bone structures ,
Eyelids and many many more were done using snapshot. Without it , that kind of
long structures would be impossible or very tedious to make.
