Glen,
Yes, you can alter existing maps. Simply load the image and you can see it
textured on the object. From there, you can paint onto the applied texture. You
have full control over the opacity, so you can add a little, or a lot.
Also, any portion up to 64 X 64 pixels may be cut out and used as a brush.
