Hello out there in renderland While playing around with my shiny new copy of KPT Gradient Designer, I became a "virtual crash dummy" ( It happens to the best of us) And I just thought I should let this select group put their collective heads together and let me know what, if anything, I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to make a realistic looking Compact Disk. I created a material (using 2 .GRD textures, a GRD ref map, a GRD spec map and each were masked by another .GRD) and assigned it to the top and bottom faces of my CD mesh ( I assigned Chrome Pearl to the edges (( in case you care to know)), anyway… I rotated the mesh a bit over 30 frames in the KF and I started to render. In my haste, I let it start at the default resolution (800 X 600). so I quickly hit the <ESC> key to reset the res. and …. WHAMO major CRASH ( Every thing turned bright Pink, purple and blue, it was very pretty and I could even draw dark blue pictures with my mouse ( lucky me) The only cure is the old reboot in the butt trick. I just created a a simple scene with a box 3 lights and a camera, assigned the CD mat. to the object and tried to render in the KF and hit <ESC> SAME RESULT (oh boy… repeatable problems, thank goodness) That's it in a nutshell ( hard nut to crack.., etc.) If anyone has a cure or at least words of sympathy please let me know. If you can't reproduce the prob. I'll upload the offending material ( I haven't tried it with other .GRD materials yet but I did try it with Chrome pearl and default, no crash ( thank god for the little things) Thanks for your time see ya David Camp
