Thanks. I was having trouble with pctar because I couldn't figure out how to tell it to read the tape drive… I didn't realize it would see it automatically by default. Now If I could only do a directory of the tape to see what's on it without having to read every byte of data on the thing (slow, slow, slow… we're dealing with 2k targas). Well, at least we're able to pull frames off the tape now. Thanks again. David
