#Printer Search
Kris,
I am using a Epson Stylus Color printer and have had very good luck with
it. If you are interested, there is a n Epson forum here on Compuserve and you
can read the complaints and praises of the printer. Personally, I have never
had better printouts in my life. Some of them I could put under glass and from
a short distance looks like a photograph.
As far as drivers are concerned, you have three choices for this printer.
(As far as I know, there may be more).
1. There is an Epson Stylus Color preferences driver being sold comerically
from Endicor. Tel # 1-210-650-4988. It doesn't give you "great" control over
the printer color, but it handles the special features like microweave and high
speed printing.
2. Studio II has a Stylus Color support. I have ordered it but haven't
received it yet so I can't report on how well it works. I have seen messages
that rave about it.
3. Turboprint 3.0 is a german program. All the prompts, menus, etc are in
german. As well as the manual. The plus side is it handles the special
720×720 dpi printing of the Color Stylus. It also has special handling of the
print head and adjustment of color, gamma and dithering choices. Until I see
Studio II, this is the one of choice for me. (Of course, I can get by in
German which makes it a little easier 🙂 ).
Hope this helps alittle in your quest.
