That 5-pin socket sounds like it may be a Panasonic "Control-M" interface. I
am not sure how (or why) they would use it as a "VITC" reader/writer interface,
VITC being a Time-Code format, and not a Control Signal Protocol. Now it is
possible that as part of the control signal they provide a VITC signal from an
onboard VITC reader…
