#3/4" or SVHS edit?
Hello folks:
I'm at the early stages of planning an editing system for tapes mainly produced
on a decent SVHS camera. But possibly from other formats like Hi-8 too. Like
many of you, we're talking "home" , low budget equipment here.
However instead of just getting a couple SVHS/VHS decks and a controller for
starters (such as Pana AG-1970's) I've had some conversations and seen some
newsletter type comments suggesting editing to a 3/4" tape system. Thus
allowing less generational loss when editing and then copying again. I'm
assuming used equipment here.
Any opinions from "real" experience out there? I realize I have to end up
making a final VHS tape someway at the end. But thought I might have more
flexibility and sustaining of quality going 3/4" in between.
Thanks,
Dick
