Received a reply from NSDi:

The not supported part was redirecting the printer.device output to the
JetDirect equipped LJ printer. I take it "port-lpr" redirects a port (PAR: or
SER:) to my printers lpd. What lpd??? Don't see any program names like this
in the AmiTCP archive. Maybe AmiTCP needs a server to talk to for the printer
and AmiTCP only acts like a client. I really don't know…. but guess I am
going to be learning something.
Made up the cable for the LJ4's serial port. Works alright, but can't set my
WB 2.1 Prefs/Serial to higher than 31250 bps, so have to use 19200. Would
definitely be cheapest to let the Amiga print via the serial port.
What ever happened to WorkBench For Work Groups…. <grin>
