Gary, EISA refers to a Bus type, there are currently four types available on IBM PC's: ISA, VESA, EISA, PCI. PCI is only available on pentimums, however there are PCI/ ESIA/ ISA motherboards available in the aftermarket. The philosophy is that one does not want to be orphaned or limited in choices of various hardware. An ISA bus has a throughput of 10 Megabytes per second (MBS) while ESIA has a throughput of 33 MBS, and PCI has 133 MBS. Cad and video application are data intensive, thus the throughput is critical. ESIA was introduced 5-7 years ago so many of the developers used it to solve the Data bottelnecks. In the long run PCI will win out due to its superior throughput. My choice of PCI/ESIA/ISA allows flexability. Cordially, Douglas Campbell Propose Software
