Hi Tim, >> Well, ain't that *just* like Panasonic… <g> << Well to be truthfull it is not just Panisonic that has such limitations. Any prosumer edit controll protocall ( weather it is Panisonic 5-pin, Sony LANC etc…) will only carry so much information. If you want to send timecode and all that other fancy jazz your best bet is to go to a RS-422 plug. But there is also quite a few diferent protocalls for RS-422, what we realy need is some standarization for edit control. But of course if the manufaturers did that then we all might run a Panisonic with a Sony and throw in a JVC, and then the rotation of the earth would slow down, effecting the orbit around the sun , and we would wind up in an ever increasing plung twords the sun and total extinction. Hey maybe thats what happened to the Dinosaurs????? didn't anybody tell that stupid Tyranosaurs not to plug an 822 into a MX-50 :-)))) Hmmmmm I seem to be unusualy synical today…..must have been somthing I ate ;-)) Regards, Michael W.
