probs on gateway P5100xl
I just recently upgraded to a gateway 200 p5-100XL system and am having one
problem. During rendering, there is often a 30sec+ pause in the "Preparing
materials" stage. It seems to be related to the CDROM somehow. Anyone
experienced anything like this? Any ideas? For example, I made a sphere with
two lights and it took 7 seconds to render if I start 3ds without a CD mounted.
With a CD mounted, it sometimes takes 39 seconds. There are no map-paths to
the CD and I can't figure out what is going on. Any help would be appreciated.
The CD drive is an IDE type.
