Hello! I'm Cathryn Conroy, and I am the senior writer for CompuServe Magazine. CompuServe Magazine is considering an article concerning the "cyberpunk" (a.k.a "avant tech") phenomenon and the notion of online communications as part of the non-physical "cyberspace" in which it exists. Cyberpunk has been noted as an emerging computer-intensive subculture, enveloping genres of science fiction literature, music and role-playing games; fringe science; new age philosophy; so-called "smart" (intelligence-enhancing) drugs; hacking/cracking and the social, ethical and legal implications thereof; and cutting-edge computer technologies, most notably virtual reality. The phenomenon has been called the countercultural movement of the 1990s. The article would define cyberpunk in terms of online communications, i.e. how they perpetuate it, and examine what the movement bodes for the future. If you are an adherent of the cyberpunk "lifestyle," or are uniquely qualified to comment on any of the above-mentioned aspects (i.e. sci-fi literature, VR technology) of it, please send an explanatory electronic mail message to me at User I.D. 70007,417. Please include the forum in which you read this message. Thanks!
